HOW DOES WIRELESS INTERNET WORK?

Wireless internet use a combination of Fixed wireless, microwave and fibre networking technology to deliver fast internet to your home or business. A small antenna is placed on your roof directed pointing to one of our high sites.

HOW MUCH DOES INSTALLATION COST?

The installation is free. The R99/m SLA “line rental” covers the small antenna on your roof, just add your bandwidth package and you’re off to the races.

IS WIRELESS THE SAME AS SATELLITE INTERNET?
Wireless internet is nothing like satellite internet. Satellite internet is slow as data needs to travel for many kilometers into space and back to land. Our wireless internet is pointed to a tower much closer to you.
IS THIS SERVICE FASTER THAN ADSL?
Yes, our service is a lot faster than ADSL – Guaranteed. Our service can also be symmetrical – allowing you to host services. ADSL does not give you the upload speeds. Our wireless internet also has much lower latencies making gaming and streaming ideal on our network.
DO I REQUIRE LINE OF SIGHT?
Yes you do – Our wireless technology requires your building to have line of sight to our highsites. We have multiple highsites within the Western Cape and surrounding areas and generally have a high installation rate. We offer a free site survey.
WHAT DOES CONTENTION RATIO MEAN?
Contention ratio is how many users are shared on the same line. Many providers oversell their bandwidth to make higher profits. For example ADSL is at a 30:1 ratio and often fibre is at 10:1. We do not oversell our services.
I REQUIRE A STATIC IP ADDRESS, CAN IBITS PROVIDE THAT?
Yes, as a Tier 1 ISP we operate our our ASN and IP Blocks. All our connections comes with static IP addresses.
I NEED A GOOD CONNECTION FOR VOIP, WILL WIRELESS WORK?
Our network is designed for low latencies making it perfect for VOIP services.
